General Information

COGJET is a joint entrance test for admission into post-graduate/doctoral programs in Cognitive Science.
The 2024 edition of COGJET will be jointly organized by the Centre of Behavioural and Cognitive Sciences (CBCS), University of Allahabad, and International Institute of Information Technology, Hyderabad (IIIT-H).

Programs Offered
COGJET 2024 is for admission to M.Sc in Cognitive Science and Integrated M.Sc-PhD program in Cognitive Science at CBCS, and PhD in Cognitive Science at International Institute of Information Technology, Hyderabad (IIIT-H). You only need to fill out a single registration form for all the programmes either at CBCS or IIITH; there is no requirement for separate forms.

Eligibility Criteria
Indian nationals with a 3yr/4yr UG degree in subjects related to Cognitive Science and Psychology, or in Biological/Physical/Analytical science, or in Engineering/Medical Science, or in Management Studies are eligible.
Applicants should have completed or expect to finish their degree by June 2024.

Exam Structure
COGJET is an enabling exam providing a performance card to each candidate.
The exam does not automatically guarantee eligibility for admission; individual institutions may have additional eligibility conditions in addition to COGJET and may also allow other national exams like GATE, NET etc. For more details please visit the respective websites of CBCS and IIIT Hyderabad.

Score Utilization
Participating institutes/universities can use the COGJET score as they see fit in their admission process.

Exam Fee
The non-refundable examination fee is Rs. 1000/- (Rs. 700/- for SC/ST, OBC (NCL), and PwD).

Online Format
The 2024 edition of COGJET will be entirely online.
Candidates can attempt the exam from any location with compatible electronic devices, operating systems, and internet connectivity.

The test comprises 40 MCQs, with a duration of 2 hours.
The syllabus, available on the COGJET 2024 portal, includes topics from cognitive psychology, neuroscience, mathematics, programming, and general reasoning.
